Tech is part of our lives now but we don’t always know how best to use it or how to make it. We see our children growing up with tech, but how do we support them? We know there’s lots of useful and fun stuff to do with the help of tech, but how? We hear there are great employment opportunities for those with tech skills, but what are they and how does that relate to us?
Tech Set Go! is designed to help with all these questions. It’s a free programme of information, training and fun activities for anyone aged 18+ in South Yorkshire. There are different opportunities depending on what you’re interested in.
Are you a parent wanting to encourage your child?
We are running free hands-on workshops with robots for children aged 7-11 and parents. You can play with the robots yourself and there’ll be people on hand to talk to about how to grow your own skills and understanding – especially if you’ve got some interest in tech yourself.
Would you like to find out more about tech training – for fun or for jobs?
There will be drop-in sessions happening in local communities across South Yorkshire where you can have a one-to-one conversation about your interests and questions, do some fun taster activities, find out more about the kinds of jobs available in local creative and digital companies, and see what courses you could take.
Are you quite techie? Are you already doing some digital design or coding?
We are running a free web design and development course to take your skills to the next level so you could apply for an entry level job in the tech sector. You will learn industry tools and techniques, meet employers and work on real-life projects.
